We are really pleased to hear that one of our Lifelines Facilitators, Constable Kevin Cloherty, Police Scotland, has been awarded a Divisional Excellence Award for his commitment to wellbeing.
Kevin is passionate about the wellbeing of colleagues. He approaches all in a respectful and compassionate manner, with patience, maturity and excellent listening skills. He liaises with Wellbeing partners both internal/external.
In January 2024 he identified an opportunity to further upskill and enhance his level of support and became a Divisional Wellbeing Champion. He regularly keeps colleagues up to date on various Health and Wellbeing matters, has attended wellbeing events and signposted colleagues towards various support agencies.
In February/March 2024 his development journey continued when he became a Lifelines Scotland Peer Supporter and Post Trauma First Aider, helping him to understand factors that protect and threaten colleagues’ wellbeing both on and off duty. His training highlighted the impact of trauma and stress including a range of common mental health conditions and the signs to look out for when people are possibly having difficulty and require help.
To compliment this, in October 2024 he completed a Lifelines Scotland Facilitator Course and has competently facilitated face to face and MS Teams Divisional training events and his commitment to this is commendable.
Congratulations, Kevin, from all of us in the Lifelines team, well done.
